I came home from an overnight trip to visit with my mom and my battery charger/AC adapter for my laptop was sitting on my porch. I'm so happy! I wasn't about to write at my mom's house. Her computer OS is not captiable with flash and buzzword works with flash, so I could not get to my latest chapter to add to it. I was going crazy.
I really enjoyed my visit with my mom. I've been down about something else. Not a big thing, just a change in my schedule. But going home and having my mommy cook for me and such, well, that is good for the soul. It helps that my husband loves her cooking too. LOL!
Because I could not write, I did some reading. I read a romance novel by a very prolific and popular author. I'm the first one to admit that I'm not a very good beta, but I noticed a bunch of errors. :) They stood out because she wasn't doing them consistantly, so I know it wasn't just publishing house style. But, I won't get all snooty about it, because I am not error free in my own writing. I'm just pointing out what I noticed.
I also read a book on getting a novel published. If I couldn't write, I thought it was a good idea to read on writing. Reading about book proposals and query letters got me nervously excited about the future. Even the section about rejection letters couldn't dampen my mood. Agents, editors, publishing houses? *flails arms and acts like a nut* I can't wait.
At the rate I'm going, I'll have three books to revise and self edit soon. The YA one is already complete. The erotic one will be done by the end of Novemeber for sure, and I'm hoping to have the romance novel done then as well, if not, by Janurary. Here's hoping one or all three will be worthy of publication and that I can somehow break through the being an unknown with no connections barier and get noticed. Although the YA novel is aimed at a very specific market and I do have some remote connections to the publisher that I have my eye on. I just have to manuever a tiny bit to get the right person to read the manuscript when it's ready. And I am very confident that I can make that happen.

The calendar to the left says I didn't do any writing for Friday, but it's thirty minutes until midnight here and in the few hours since I've been home, I've written almost 4,000 words tonight. I guess they will count for Saturday, which is going to make Saturday look like I went crazy with the writing. I plan to write another 6,000 words tomorrow.
I'm really getting into my erotic fiction. The plot is very intricate and more and more is coming to me as I go along. My mainstream romance novel is going a little slower. I have seven chapters of erotic stuff written and only five for the romance novel. Yes, the erotic stuff is more fun. In my fan fiction, I will write some hotness here or there, but to move the story along. I deteremined to write something that was filled with hotness, just to practice the skill of writing it and it 's turning out to be story I really like with characters I am enjoying getting to know and the erotic stuff is not all just bedroom scenes. It's fun to build up the tension and then let them at each other and then pull them away from each other. LOL! I have no idea if anyone else will enjoy the story, but I'm having a blast.
And I'd just like to point out that one week into Nano and I haven't broken any fingers this year. A minor set backback with the laptop adaptor, but I have overcome that in one night and I'm still ahead word wise than my nano calendar on my desktop wallpaper says.
Oh, and I tried to read some of my f-list's posts, but I knew that if I started that I'd get no writing done. I'm sorry if I missed something important. Don't think that I don't care; I do. :)
jaded_jamie, thanks for that drive by hug from my last post. I needed that. :)
