Great! Just Great! was runner up in this round of the Forbidden Awards in the Best Taboo category. I love this award site because of the comments that are left with the award. It's a nice touch.
This is absolutely hilarious! Whether you love or hate the Buffy!Bot this fic is simply priceless. I was rolling around laughing the first time I read it and have gone back time and time again. Great voices, well written, and simply awesome all-round.
Congrats to all the winners, but a special shout out tomabel_marsters for her win for Switched, because of the previous drama that was generated because of that fic. (And sometimes, drama happens and stupid people get on the internet, but then it's an opportunity for people to shine and show some amazing character and site operators to really prove have cool they are.)

Just to let everyone know: I have sent my laptop to Gateway to get fixed, so my time online is very limited. Only our laptops are able to hookup to the wireless internet router. So, I can only be online when my husband is gone and I can use his laptop. They said two weeks for repairs, but I not counting on having my baby back for a month. I never trust the times the tech's say. So please forgive me if I don't comment on your posts. I'm trying to read all the posts, but don't have enough timet to stop and comment to them all. :)
I really want to play with photoshop, but all the brushes that I've downloaded and rely on are on my laptop. I'm too lazy to go searching for them all to put on my husband's laptop. Besides, he has less memory than I do, so I don't want to take any up with adding more stuff.
I am rewriting the first chapter of another book that I'm working on. I noticed that I included all the senses but smell. Which is really strange, because I connect to the world with a strong sense of smell. Right now, I have the screen door on the sliding glass door in my bedroom open. The dryer just outside is running and I can smell the dryer sheet. It's the green box of Bounce Awakening sheets and it's one of the best smells in the world! I do laundry just to have the smell. LOL! When it comes to cleaning in the house, I use a berry scented window cleaner made by Bissell. I use bleach diluted in water in a spray bottle for all counters, sinks, toilets, ect. For the floors, I use Pin-Sol. I will use the powdered Comet on the bathtubs. I love the smell of chlorine, though my oldest daugher hates it. It brings back wonderful memories of travelling and spending time in jacuzzis at hotels. It reminds me of the times that I actually enjoyed meeting strangers as we were all on vacations and there interesting stories to be told.
Just like a certain song can bring me back to a time and a feelings (like me and my high school sweethearts song), smells can put me in a certain mood. Pin-Sol makes me feel young. It was used in the daycare that I went to when I was in pre-school. It also makes me think things are clean and disinfected and I like that. A lot.
All that to say that I am going to make an efforts to add more of the sense of smell into my writing. I'm not going to over do it, but it's just another thing on my list of things to check as I edit.
I'm getting my hair cut on Monday. I'll be chopping off about an inch and getting layers again. Tuesday, I plan to dye it. I'm debating on what to do with it. I'm really, really liking the white. Most people mistake it for blonde, but I know I look older than my 36 years and my eyebrows are still black. Which is weird, because my hair has always been a nice boring brown, never black. But the black eyebrows do not go with the white hair. I don't understand how the hair has turned white, but the eyebrows are still black. Strange genes. So, I'm thinking of putting a little yellow into the color with a blonde shade, but what to do with those eyebrows? If I go back to a light brown, I think it is too big of a change.

I'm so excited right now, that I can barely type! I sent a query letter directly to the publisher that I had in mind for my YA novel a couple of days ago. On Monday, to be precise. I owned an Atari 2600 when they first came out and I spent many hours at the arcade in the bowling alley when I was a child because my parents were in a league. If I had to pick one, I'd have to say Mrs. Pac-Man. But I loved Frogger, Galaga, Dig Dug, Arkanoid and a ton of different pin ball games. My favorite pin ball machines were later ones from the 1990's though. Adam's Family and Terminator 2. Could play those for hours.
My husband and I played Mrs. Pac-Man on our first date. I was impressed that he could beat me. LOL!

I spend the day working on a synopsis for my young adult novel. I whittled down a 200 page book to three double-spaced pages. After all that, I had to play with the wording to try to make it interesting and connected. I also worked on a query letter of sorts, though it's just an email with an introduction and summary that will be going directly to the publisher.
My head was spinning, but I got a chapter of Not My Reality back from xtanitx and her fun style of beta'ing perked me up and I was happy to be posting my fan fic. Speaking of, while writing this story, which happened really fast, I had the awful tendency to use "and then" a lot. A lot, a lot. :) Here's hoping I have been cured of that bad habit. I appreciate xtanitx bringing it to my attention and I'm sure my other betas have called me on it in the past. But what has cured me of it is a conversation I had on the SR cbox about it. I can't remember who it was (and if it was you, pipe up and take credit please), but someone mentioned a scene from Dude, Where's My Car, and after watching it on youtube, every time I go to type "and then", I can only hear that fast food workers voice saying "aaaaand theeeennnnnn?" I should be sleepy, but I'm not. I may work on League of Souls, which still only has two chapters. At the rate I'm going it will be a couple of months before I post the first chapter. :(
The fireworks just went off at our baseball stadium. We live at a different angle off the lake now, but we have a much better view of the fireworks as there is no huge tree in the way. My kids are so happy. They rushed over to climb up the tree house as soon as the stadium lights went off and we could see the fireworks perfectly, just under a huge almost full moon. Or was it a full moon tonight? The kids got video of it and if it turned out nicely, I'll post it for all to see.

So, I just watched the latest episode of Castle. First, I loved the laser tag scene. Second, my eyes nearly bugged out when the whole, ( Cut for spoilers for those who haven't seen it yet. )I'm so glad my chapter in Not My Reality with that exact scenario is already posted or people would think I stole the idea. Fact is, the writers on Castle and I both stole the idea from a real case here in California from quite a few years ago. LOL!
And this show keeps delivering. Good television. I like that I don't have to wait for a good episode. So far, they have all been good. Yes, it's easy to watch Nathan -- and if he keeps wearing those deep blue shirts, I might have to start crushing on the man -- but the rest of the cast is enjoyable too.

We have a little routine/ritual in my house that we've been doing since my oldest were very little. The kids crowd around the kitchen while we're cooking dinner and we just chat about whatever is on any of our minds while my husband gets a few minutes to himself to read the paper or work on his computer. In the old house, it was difficult to get them all in the tiny, narrow kitchen, but this house has a huge kitchen. It's a very casual thing and I don't make any of them come to the kitchen. Often, the three youngest will come and go, because they get distracted. Last night, I started off by telling the kids that a certain someone would be on upcoming episodes of Doctor Who.
