It seems like I'm cursed when it comes to Nanowrimo.  I've got this awesome brand new laptop to write with and I've gotten really used to using Word with grammar check (which you're not supposed to edit during nano, but still, I like to see that green line under my mistakes to know when I'm messing up).  My charger broke today.

But the good thing:  I called Gateway and since I am still under warranty, a new one is on its way rigth now.  Two business days.  That was the quickest, most painless customer service call I've ever had to make.  I navigated the automated system with practiced ease.  I had all the relevatant numbers and dates on hand and within five minutes, I was connected with Matt.  He spoke perfect English (Ok, maybe the Brits on my f-list would argue that point, but lets just say, I could tell he wasn't from India.).  I explained the situation and he put me on hold for less then three minutes while he got authorization, then gave me an order number.  But I had to giggle when he said, "Thanks for calling Acer."  LOL!  I called Gateway.

So, I'm guessing Thursday, I'll have the new one as he said it would be here in two business days.  I always translate that into "It will be here in four business days" and then get happy if it's earlier than that.  So I may not be able to get as much written as I would have otherwise.

I have about fifteen minutes of battery life left and then I'm stuck on one of the desktops.  Without Word.  :(   I rushed to upload all the chapters I've already written to buzzword and I'll be writing from there.  So it won't matter what computer I'm on.  But Buzzword only had spell check and no grammar check.  And, I won't be able to do any posting because I'm lost with Semagic for posting on Livejournal.  I can post without it, but it would probably end up looking funny.  I will be able to read and comment though.

I'm just so relieved that I don't have to pay for another charger.  The budget is extremely tight right now.

And with nano, I've gotten a bit of writing done and I hope to get more done later in the day, but I'm ahead on my word count goals.  [livejournal.com profile] mabel_marsters is beating me as you can clearly see from our word war bars to the left.  And, she hasn't been able to update her word count because the nano website is buggy and over loaded.
