I was doing "research" for a future fic I'm planing and I watched Harsh Light of Day . I'm sure other's have seen this before and pointed it out, but it's the first time that I realized it.
In S4 in the above mentioned episode, Spike breaks into the crypt and assumes that the ugly amulet is the gem of amara. He holds the amulet in his hand, puts it on and stands with arms outstretched, waiting for some kind of action or change. Soon after we cut to the Scoobies in Giles' apartment. Xander discovers Giles' hidden television and turns it on. There is breaking news and they show an arial view of the huge hole in the highway, that Spike has caused with all his tunneling.
Now go to S7, episode, Chosen. Buffy hands Spike an amulet after telling him that only a champion can wear it *sob*...okay, where was I. Oh, yes, the amulet. In the hellmouth, he puts in on and there is a reaction and change. Later, Buffy watches from the top of the speeding bus, as Sunnydale caves in on itself. Cut to an arial view of the massive hole forming. Again, Spike is the cause.
Just something I noticed. In the cut are screenshots side by side of these scenes from both seasons. Was this planned or just writers with unoriginal material, or somethings else? I have a thought on it, but I'm curious to see what others think. Looking at the pictures side by side, it's almost eerie.
