My laptop died. I used it for everything. The hard drive is the problem. It had a lot of issues. The monitor was coming apart from the base and a bunch of the keys on the keyboard were missing. My husband was very sympathetic but we won't be able to get me a new one for at least a month.

I've set up a user account on my kids computer that is in the den, but I HATE that I can't be mobile. And I hate the idea that my kids can look over my shoulder as I write. Mostly because some of what I write is inappropriate for their eyes.

I am so glad that I have every chapter that I've written of In Harm's Way sent and returned from at least one of my betas. So, I haven't lost the work. Except for revisions that I'd made to chapter twenty-six, which I'll have to do over. I had the last chapter half way written, but I was planning to rewrite it in a different pov anyway, so no big deal that I lost it.

And my original work is saved with an online file storage company. I'm so glad for that.

So, you may see less of me around until we can get a new laptop for me. I wish I could go out and get a job to pay for it, but I'll just have to wait. I plan to write when my children are in school or asleep, so I should be able to stay on schedule and write the last chapter of In Harm's Way and the epilogue on my kids computer. I'm downloading semagic and Open Office right now.

I've been without my laptop for a few hours now and I already REALLY miss it!
